Nutrition and Baby Sleep

The effect of diet on baby sleep is not to be underestimated. To help kids sleep better, we need to take a holistic look at their sleep. Sleep is essential for hormone regulation of ghrelin and appetite control. You have to address the sleep problem and sleep training to help the baby eat more food and a balance of nutrients. Not the other way around.

For example, a very tired baby can eat half a biscuit for breakfast at 6 months. A week following sleep training they have the appetite to eat 3 biscuits and a whole banana.

It's important to feed little ones based on their appetite. If a baby eats a lot or only a little, that’s up to them. Their body knows how to self-regulate. If they eat less at one meal, they’ll make up for it in the next to meet their daily nutritional needs. Nature is amazing, and babies have this instinct. So if a baby turns their head away or refuses to open their mouth, don’t insist or try to trick them—their body knows best.
